Arc Legal Assistance, a provider of specialist legal expenses and add-on insurance products in the UK and Republic of Ireland, has named Peter Harvey as Head of Business – Ireland, with responsibility for all aspects of Arc Legal’s Irish operations.
His appointment coincides with the opening of a new branch in the Republic of Ireland, which Arc Legal said will support the growth of its business in both the North and the South under Harvey’s leadership.
Harvey joins Arc Legal from Arthur J. Gallagher, where he was responsible for the firm’s Northern Ireland personal lines business, before which he was Insurer Relationship Manager for Swinton’s ‘Open & Direct’ brand in Northern Ireland.
Richard Finan, Director of Distribution at Arc Legal, said: “We were delighted that Peter agreed to come and join us. He is a quality individual that we have worked with as a client for a number of years. He is well known and respected and has a significant track record in the insurance market and was the ideal appointment to manage our new Dublin branch.”
In addition to Legal Expenses Insurance, Arc Legal has recently developed a suite of add-on insurance products for the Irish market, including breakdown assistance, personal accident, key cover and windscreen insurance.

It was the right time for us to invest in a permanent presence to support our clients and to build on our recent success. The Irish market has been dominated by one provider for too long – we now offer a credible and sustainable alternative.”

Arc Legal’s new Dublin branch is co-located with parent AmTrust International, and its launch follows the announcement of a recent product partnership between Arc Legal and Irish personal lines MGA KennCo Underwriting.
