AXA XL, the property & casualty and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has announced that Olivia Shing is to relocate from Singapore to London to assume the role of Head of Underwriting Management, UK & Lloyd’s.
Shing’s promotion is effective immediately and sees her take on responsibility for supporting the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer, UK & Lloyd’s, Luis Prato, in executing the regional underwriting strategy and ensuring continued profitability.
In her new role, Shing will lead a team of business managers tied to each of the region’s underwriting departments, and will be responsible for supporting them in executing their strategy.
Additionally, she will support the Delegated Underwriting Governance Team and the UK & Lloyd’s Governance & Controls Manager.
Shing brings more than 18 years of experience in client servicing, distribution, and operational roles in the UK and Asia, having started her career in 2002 with NFU Mutual.
Most recently, she served as Senior Operations Lead, Asia, AXA XL, having been promoted a number of times since joining XL in 2014. Earlier in her career, Shing worked at insurance and reinsurance brokers Willis and Marsh.
