Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced the appointment of Nick Major to the role of Country Manager, UK.
He joins the BHSI London office with nearly three decades of experience in the UK insurance market.
Most recently, Major spent almost two years as Managing Director, Commercial Lines UK, at Aviva. He joined the firm in 2017 as Director GCS & Chief Underwriting Officer Commercial Lines.
Prior to Aviva, he spent nearly 15 years in increasingly senior positions, including Chief Underwriting Officer, at Zurich Insurance in London.
Commenting on Major’s appointment, Chris Colahan, Head of UK and Europe, BHSI, said: “BHSI has been in high-growth mode in the UK. With Nick’s leadership, we will further strengthen our team and accelerate our momentum in bringing sustainable insurance solutions to market.

BHSI has also recently announced a string of leadership promotions within its UK Executive & Professional Lines business, including the appointment of Jess Kirby as Head.
Tom Harris was appointed Head of Commercial Management Liability, Janine McGriskin as Head of Financial Lines, Dave Harries as Executive Underwriter and Maeve Kelleher as Head of Claims.
