Brit appoints Jack Hinton to new role

Specialty insurer Brit has appointed Jack Hinton to be an underwriter in its accident and health team.

BRIT logoHinton is joining the firm from RSA, where he has been a senior underwriter. Prior to RSA, He held underwriting roles with Sompo International and ANV. He joined Brit last month and will return to Trevor Herburn, class underwriter.

Andy Bowers, managing director for programs and facilities at Brit, said: “We have a well-established and highly regarded A&H team, and I am pleased to welcome Jack as its latest member. Our ability to offer both specialist claims and underwriting expertise means we are well placed to respond to complex client needs.”

He added: “This is particularly important in enabling us to provide the right coverage in what is a challenging inflationary environment for many businesses. Our ambition is to build on our leadership position, and the team is focused on delivering a service that will continue to make us a partner of choice.”

This is not the only people move that Brit has announced in recent weeks. At the beginning of September, the company said that Matthew Wilson was set to resume his role of group CEO.

In September 2021, Wilson stepped down from his role to undergo treatment for a rare form of blood cancer, but will now return to work at Brit on September 12th, 2022.

In Wilson’s absence, Martin Thompson had been serving as Interim Group CEO, and will remain on the Board of Brit Syndicates Limited, the firm’s Lloyd’s managing agent.
