GuideOne National has announced the appointment of Nigel Spain to the position of Head of Global Technical Property, as well as Randy Thompson’s appointment to Senior Risk Engineer.
Both positions will take place effective immediately.
In his new role, Spain will be responsible for leading the commercial property team in the wholesale surplus lines space, while Thompson will support the company’s Specialty Underwriting team with account reviews and provide field engineering and loss control services to customers.
Prior to GuideOne, Spain worked at Navigators Insurance, where he served as Underwriting Director for their Special Property Division. In that role, he was responsible for leading a team of specialty underwriters focused on surplus lines commercial business.
Thompson brings more than 30 years of loss prevention, fire protection and safety engineering experience, with over 20 years in industry, 10 years of that in personnel and project management and 10 years of commercial property insurance risk engineering. Thompson had previously owned his own risk consulting company where he then went on to work as a Senior Risk Consultant for a global risk consulting firm.
