QBE Re has announced the appointment of Mohamed El Sabri as Head of Life Reinsurance for Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
El Sabri will be based out of Dubai and oversee the development and management of the company’s life reinsurance portfolio in the region.
He reports to Abdallah Balbeisi, Senior Executive Officer, Head of MEA.
This newly-created role marks an expansion of QBE Re’s offering in the region and underlines an increasing focus towards the fostering of new opportunities across the MENA life reinsurance market.
El Sabri has over 14 years’ life & medical reinsurance experience in the Middle East, most recently as Senior Business Development Manager for Munich Re.
Prior to that, he served as a Senior Market Manager at SCOR SE in Germany. He holds an MBA in Actuarial Sciences and FCII.
