Addresscloud, a provider of geocoding and property intelligence solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Smarty, a US address data and geolocation specialist.

The collaboration aims to equip underwriters with rooftop-level location accuracy across more than 210 million properties in the United States.

This partnership will enable Addresscloud’s users to accurately identify property boundaries and gain a clearer understanding of geographic risk exposure, enhancing how insurers assess and manage their portfolios.

The integration of Smarty’s precise geocoding capabilities with Addresscloud’s intelligence platform gives insurers the tools to evaluate risk with greater granularity and confidence.

Beyond mapping accuracy, the partnership allows insurers to connect address records to detailed property-level attributes. This includes the ability to match addresses with tax assessor data and enrich risk models with unit-specific insights—critical for underwriting both residential and commercial properties.

For commercial lines, insurers can now pinpoint individual business units within multi-tenant buildings, allowing for more nuanced evaluations of exposure. In residential underwriting, the ability to associate data with specific apartments improves accuracy in high-density housing scenarios.

This collaboration is a central part of Addresscloud’s broader expansion into the US market, designed to deliver the same high standard of location intelligence that has made the company a trusted name in the UK. By combining Smarty’s address precision with Addresscloud’s hazard datasets—spanning over 20 types of natural perils—insurers can now access a unified platform for smarter, more profitable risk selection and pricing.

Founder and CEO of Addresscloud, Mark Varley, commented: “There are over 210m addresses in the US, but underwriters too often rely on incomplete or inaccurate information to assess these risk addresses. Partnering with Smarty gives us unparalleled, rooftop-level address intelligence, but even more importantly, it allows us to link property characteristics at the unit level. This is essential for connecting addresses to tax assessor data, helping insurers and reinsurers enrich their portfolios with high-quality property insights.

“As extreme weather events become more frequent and severe, we need to ensure we are using the best available data to support risk management and mitigation decisions worldwide. Expanding our award-winning proposition into new territories relies on strong partnerships like this to arm our customers with the most accurate and actionable property intelligence.”

Founder and CEO of Smarty, Jonathan Oliver, added: “Providing the most accurate address information has always been a priority for Smarty, and partnering with a company that values accuracy as much as we do is exciting. We’re highly invested in seeing how much higher Addresscloud’s customers can take risk assessment capabilities with exact, rooftop-level geocodes, enriched property data points, and the most up-to-date address data available.”
