Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced two appointments within its North America Executive Management Team (EMT), including new Regional Head of Liability Carol Laufer.
Laufer replaces Dieter Hautzer, who is due to retire following a 30-year career with the firm.
She joins from Zurich North America having served as US National Accounts/Commercial Insurance, Head of Excess Casualty since 2017.
Prior to Zurich, she was with ACE USA and also spent 10 years across various primary casualty leadership roles at AIG
Ciara Brady, Global Head of Liability notes, “Dieter will be missed, as he has been a long-standing leader for our regional Liability business and a consummate professional.
“I want to thank him for his many years and contributions to Liability. I am thrilled to welcome Carol on board and anticipate she will be a strong and proven Regional Head, who will continue moving the Liability business forward in North America.”
Concurrently, Michael Pignataro will be the new North America Regional Head of Energy & Construction.
He takes over this role from Tim Cook, who was responsible for the Energy & Construction line of business since 2017.
Cook is ending a four-year assignment at AGCS North America and transitioning his duties to Pignataro through September 30.
