Allianz Commercial has announced the opening of its Miami Latin America Hub with a fully established leadership team in place which combines regional expertise and global capabilities.
The new hub significantly bolsters Allianz Commercial’s footprint in Latin America, enhancing the company’s capacity to deliver specialized solutions, including facultative reinsurance and commercial insurance, across several key areas: Property, Construction & Natural Resources, Entertainment, Financial Lines (inclusive of Cyber), Marine, and Multinational Services.
The Miami hub supports Allianz Commercial’s business operations in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, while expanding reinsurance business into additional Latin American territories, including Chile, Peru, Ecuador, and Panama.
From the Miami-based office, the team connects regional client and broker needs with Allianz Commercial’s global underwriting, technical, and capacity platforms.
Guilherme Bizzo has relocated from Brazil to Miami to take on the role of Regional Managing Director, as well as head of Multinational and Alternative Risk Transfer operations.
Having co-led the Miami Hub project from its start, he is now tasked with leading the office, driving the hub’s overall strategy and execution, and managing multinational and alternative risk solutions.
His responsibilities also include coordinating cross-functional initiatives to ensure seamless integration with the Allianz Commercial global network.
As Head of Facultative Desk, Angelica Torres has been tasked with leading the Miami reinsurance operations, coordinating placements, managing broker relationships, and expanding facultative capacity across all lines of business in the region.
Eduardo Fontes serves as Head of Distribution, and leads regional distribution strategy and business development across Latin America, strengthening broker partnerships and identifying market opportunities.
Felipe Orsi also relocated from Brazil and has been appointed Head of Property. He leads the property facultative reinsurance and insurance strategy across Latin America, underwriting complex property risks and expanding the regional portfolio.
Ivan Coronado, Head of Natural Resources & Construction, manages risks and provides specialized solutions for Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Renewables, Heavy Industries, and Construction.
Monica Oyaga, moving from Colombia in early 2026 as Head of Long Tail, will lead underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and technical excellence for Financial Lines, Cyber, Entertainment, and other long-tail solutions, strengthening the hub’s commercial risk capabilities.
Daniel Castrillon, Chief Technical Officer, relocated from Colombia in December. He heads Latin America’s technical operations, overseeing underwriting discipline, risk assessment, portfolio quality, and technical excellence across all business lines.
The Miami-based leadership team will work in close partnership with Gabriela Rosa (Brazil) and Diego Reppetti (Argentina).
Based locally, Rosa and Reppetti complete the regional leadership structure, guaranteeing a strong on-the-ground presence and seamless coordination with operating entities throughout Latin countries.
David Colmenares, Managing Director for Latin America at Allianz Commercial, commented: “Having our leadership team in place ahead of our official February launch demonstrates our commitment to Latin America and the Americas region as a whole. This team combines deep local market knowledge with global capabilities, positioning us to deliver exceptional value to our broker partners and clients.
“The Miami Hub, working hand-in-hand with our operating entities in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, strengthens our ability to serve the region’s evolving re/insurance needs and accelerates our growth as a unified Americas organization.”
