McGill and Partners, the independent global specialty insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Andre du Preez as Head of Emerging Technology, who joins the firm from Miller.
Based in London, du Preez joins the re/insurance broker with notable expertise across the industry.
In a recent LinkedIn post, du Preez, said: “In an industry often defined by tradition, McGill and Partners thrives on innovation, creativity, and bold thinking. They don’t just navigate the currents, they create new waves! I am therefore incredibly excited to share that I have joined their team as Head of Emerging Technology.”
du Preez spent just under four years working at Miller, where he most recently served as Head of Innovation, where he held responsibility for leading the development and advancement of new technological products that drove AI progression and adoption within the organisation.
He joined the firm in February 2021 as Product Owner, and then later went on to become Product Manager in 2022, serving in that role for just over two years.
Before he joined Miller, du Preez worked at financial services organisation, Vitality, for two and a half years. He joined the firm in 2018, as a Senior Business Analyst, where he played a key role in supporting the business across multiple strategic digital initiatives for its product houses.
Then in early 2020, he was appointed to Product Owner, where he was responsible for creating, maintaining, refining and prioritising the product backlog with the company’s development teams, ensuring that the product strategy aligned with business objectives.
