AXIS Capital, a provider of specialty insurance and reinsurance solutions, has announced the appointment of Douglas Yates to its Accident & Health (A&H) team as US Healthcare Reinsurance Underwriting Lead.
Yates brings almost two decades of experience in healthcare reinsurance, joining AXIS from Reinsurance Group of America (RGA), where he most recently served as Vice President & Actuary.
Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Lead Actuary, A&H US at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
Earlier in his career, Yates held various positions at Munich Re, most recently serving as Head of Program Unit – MHNA-RD.
In a recent LinkedIn post, AXIS stated, “His deep expertise in employer stop-loss and quota share arrangements, along with his ability to create innovative healthcare solutions will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate in this space.”
