Bay Harbor Re, a provider of reinsurance solutions for the US property and casualty market, has announced the appointment of José Olivares as Sr. Treaty Underwriter, effective June 30, 2025.
Olivares brings 15 years of insurance and reinsurance experience to his new role, gained from positions at Everest Re, Swiss Re and MS Re.
His experience spans both the US and Latin American markets including global and national carriers, regional and hybrid program carriers and managing general agents (MGAs).
“José combines his in-depth knowledge of reinsurance underwriting with his industry contacts to attract high quality opportunities and develop unique solutions for insurance carriers and MGAs,” Bay Harbor Re stated.
Olivares’ hire is one of the company’s latest appointments this year. Back in March, Bay Harbor Re announced the appointment of Steven Green as Vice President of Performance Management & Accounting.
As a seasoned financial leader, Green joined reinsurer following eight years with Emergent Holdings, where he most recently served alongside the Manager, Financial Performance & Analysis team.
