GeoVera Insurance Holdings, Ltd., a provider of specialty property insurance, has announced that Glenn Pomeroy, longtime CEO of the California Earthquake Authority (CEA), will join the firm, taking on the role of Executive Vice President of Marketing and Regulatory Affairs, effective February 1, 2024.
Pomeroy, a renowned figure across the sector, brings over three decades of expertise towards his new role.
His experience across the industry includes serving for eight years as the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner, and over 15 years serving as the CEO of the CEA.
During his tenure at the CEA, Pomeroy led marketing efforts that helped grow policies in force from 779,000 to over 1.1 million, while also increasing the the firm’s claims-paying capacity from $9.4 billion to over $20 billion.
In addition, Pomeroy also previously served a term as President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

GeoVera has been writing earthquake insurance in California since before the CEA was formed, and this is GeoVera’s core business.
