HDI Global Canada has strengthened its marine proposition under Michael Wright’s leadership, who joined the Corporate & Specialty insurer in 2025 as Head of Marine for Canada.
Leveraging decades of experience and a strong brokering background, the firm says that he has propelled the division forward with an innovative approach, setting new standards for client-focused solutions and driving innovation across the Canadian market.
Wright possesses over three decades of deep expertise and strategic insight within the marine sector, having begun as an insurance broker, where he specialised in marine insurance and advised clients on intricate cargo and liability risks.
For the past two decades, however, his focus has shifted entirely to underwriting.
A seasoned professional in the marine insurance sector, renowned for his leadership and management experience, Wright has driven progress and elevated industry standards throughout his career.
His commitment to cultivating new talent, combined with a passion for marine insurance and a proactive approach to identifying emerging trends and opportunities, has been instrumental in his success, HDI noted.
