Hamilton Re, the reinsurance arm of Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group, has announced that David Roache has joined the firm in the newly-created role of Senior Vice President (SVP), Head of Risk XS.
He will report to the company’s Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Tim Duffin, and joins from reinsurer Hiscox Re, where he was Head of Risk XS worldwide.
Hamilton Re Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kathleen Reardon, commented: “We’re delighted to welcome David to Hamilton Re. His hire is in direct response to our clients’ interest in multiline support. David is client focused and relationship-driven, as we are at Hamilton.

Roache was at Hiscox Re for ten years, joining in 2008 as a pricing/portfolio management actuary, before moving to underwriting in 2010. In 2015, he took on the role as Head of Risk XS at Hiscox Bermuda, and was giving responsibility for Risk XS worldwide in the following year.
He started his career in the industry in 2004 when he joined Rosemont Re as an actuarial intern, and subsequently joined Ariel Re in 2005 as one of the 11 original members of the company.
