Global insurance intermediary group Howden has announced the appointment of Azman Noorani as Global Practice Leader, Surety, effective 1 November 2024.
Noorani will report to Mark Wood, Head of Global Specialty Practices, and will lead Howden’s new Global Surety Practice. This initiative aims to expand on Howden’s existing surety capabilities, offering solutions to companies with bond requirements across multiple countries.
Wood expressed enthusiasm for Noorani’s appointment, stating, “As the demand for surety solutions continues, appointing Azman to lead our Surety global practice will unify and reinforce our efforts globally.”
He added, “Azman’s appointment reflects Howden’s ability to attract industry leading talent, and his extensive industry experience will be instrumental in driving Howdens ambitious growth plans. This is an early example of us executing on our strategy to embed specialty expertise across our international platform.”
Noorani joins Howden with 27 years of experience at Swiss Re, where he most recently served as Director, Global Head of Surety at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
Commenting on his new role, Noorani said, “Howden’s ambition is to grow its surety business and to provide broader options for clients by widening its product scope. Howden’s Surety clients will benefit from our specialised expertise and tailored solutions for their complex requirements, including credit and banking products.”
