Specialist captive insurance and reinsurance underwriter I–RE has strengthened its leadership team in Bermuda, appointing Simon Long as Managing Director of I–RE Ltd and Charles Kittrell to Underwriting Operations.
As Managing Director, I–RE said Long will be central to the continued development of the Bermuda team, playing a key role in building the business and taking it to the next level.
Long is joined by Kittrell, who steps into his new role after progressing through the organisation as an analyst.
I–RE said the senior appointments mark an important point in its evolution, reflecting strong recent growth and ambitious plans for 2026.
The hires follow a standout period in 2025, driven by record demand for I–RE’s flagship RE–PAID product.
Looking ahead to 2026, I–RE plans to expand its underwriting and commercial capabilities, while deploying technology to bring its teams closer together with broker and captive manager partners, supporting faster decision-making, deeper collaboration and more agile ways of working.
