IRB-Brasil Resseguros S.A. has received official communication sent by the Federal Union indicating that former Minister of State, Mauricio Quintella Malta Lessa, will assume the position of IRB Brasil Re Board of Directors Chairman.
The Federal Union makes this move as the holder of the Golden Share, pursuant to Articles 8, and 2, item I, of the Company’s Bylaws. This announcement was made to inform the shareholders and the general market of the new development.
The position of Chairman is currently held by Antônio Cássio dos Santos. This appointment was done by means of an election to be held at a General Shareholders’ Meeting to be duly convened once the necessary regulatory approval has been obtained from the Insurance and Reinsurance Regulator – SUSEP.
The Company informs that it is taking the necessary steps to obtain regulatory approval.
Mauricio Quintella is a former politician and is currently serving at Smart Quest Consulting. His remit at the company includes consultancy in the areas of Architectural and Engineering Projects, Management and Supervision, BIM Methodology, and IT Consulting.
The Company also informs that Antônio Cássio, who served as IRB Re’s CEO and has been the Board of Directors Chairman for the past three years, is overseeing the integration process of the future Chairman to ensure a smooth and efficient transition that prioritizes the best interests of the company.
