The International Underwriting Association (IUA), the representative body for companies underwriting business in the London insurance and reinsurance market, has confirmed two new appointments to its secretariat team.
Both new hires will join the IUA’s underwriting and claims department, which supports numerous member committees dedicated to sharing expertise and improving market practice.
Pria Punni has been appointed Senior Underwriting and Claims Executive. She joins the IUA with significant experience as a London Market underwriter, having worked across sport and leisure, aviation, and accident and health lines. Her career includes roles at three IUA member firms: AxaXL, Travelers, and AIG.
James Walker has also joined the team as an Underwriting and Claims Technician through the association’s graduate programme. He recently completed an Economics degree at Lancaster University and has undertaken several work placements within the London insurance market.
Welcoming the new arrivals, IUA Chief Executive Chris Jones commented: “I am delighted to welcome Pria and James to the IUA team. They will greatly strengthen our ability to support members through our market groups covering a comprehensive range of business classes. Such work is essential in developing best practice throughout the insurance lifecycle and ensuring London remains a global industry hub.”
