Insurance broker Marsh has announced the appointment of John Donnelly as Global Head of Placement, effective January 1, 2024.
In his new role Donnelly will have global responsibility for Marsh’s retail and wholesale broking activities. He will work closely with Marsh’s regional placement leaders to advance its global placement strategy to meet the evolving needs of clients, and lead digital market engagement initiatives.
According to the announcement, he will relocate to London from Sydney and report to Pat Donnelly, President, Marsh Specialty and Global Placement, who commented: “John has built a strong reputation as one of the leading and most respected placement brokers in the global market.
“His depth of experience in structuring complex placements and designing innovative client-focused solutions that support their risk transfer needs position him well to support Marsh’s continued growth through differentiation and specialisation.”
Donnelly returned to Marsh in 2013 following over four years with Aon, and currently is Head of Placement for Asia Pacific. He has over 40 years’ international experience in placement, risk, and insurance, and began his career with Marsh in 1983.
