Juniper Re, the reinsurance broking arm of BRP Group, has received approval in principal from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) to launch its Bermuda-domiciled subsidiary Juniper Re Bermuda, Ltd., which will be led by Chris Hayward as Head of Office.
Juniper Re Bermuda will be licensed by the BMA as an insurance broker conditional upon the satisfaction of certain conditions and its formal registration with the BMA.
The broker’s aim with the establishment of a presence in Bermuda is to rapidly expand its footprint and market access for the benefit of clients.

With more than three decades of industry experience, Hayward returns to the broking discipline where he began his career. The broker added that Hayward “brings a wealth of knowledge, relationships, and leadership to Juniper Re, reinforcing our commitment to delivering impactful solutions to our clients globally.”
Hayward has held notable leadership roles at MS Amlin AG and Willis Re, where he worked for nearly 25 years. He has a comprehensive track record for leading strong and diverse teams, executing global strategies, and delivering client-focused solutions.
Most recently, Hayward served as the Chief Underwriting Officer of the Bermuda branch of MS Amlin AG, where he played a crucial role in designing and delivering underwriting strategies, driving change, and improving the profitability of the underwriting book.
