Lockton, the independent insurance broker, has bolstered it’s Transaction Liability team by hiring Drew Hermiller and Eileen Kuo as Senior Vice Presidents within the division, with a focus on tax insurance.
They both join the broker, following prior careers as tax attorneys, bringing extensive expertise that will benefit the firm’s clients.
Hermiller joins Lockton from Hunton Andrews Kurth, LLP, where he previously served as a senior tax attorney.
Overall, he has over eight years of experience. Throughout his career, he has advised on a variety of complex tax matters, including considerable work on renewable energy credit transactions, an area of continued growth within the tax insurance space.
In addition, he also previously practiced tax law at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom, LLP and Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough, LLP.
Meanwhile, Kuo also has over eight years of experience advising on a variety of complex tax matters. She joins Lockton from her role as a senior tax attorney at Milbank LLP.
She began her tax career with the transactional tax practice of Paul Hastings LLP structuring tax-efficient solutions for various cross-border and domestic transactions.

The appointments of both Hermiller and Kuo follow on from the 2023 addition of Doug Brody, a renowned tax professional who previously brokered tax insurance solutions at another international insurance broker, and prior to that, was a Partner in EY’s Transaction Tax Practice.
