Marsh, the insurance broker and risk advisor under Marsh McLennan, has appointed Amy Barnes as Global Head of Energy & Power, effective immediately, based in London.
Additionally, the broker has appointed Andrew Herring as Global Chair of Energy & Power, effective January 1st, 2026, based in London. Herring has been with the company since 2010 and has led the UK Energy & Power team since 2012.
In her new role, Barnes succeeds and will report to Andrew George, President of Marsh Specialty.
She will drive strategy and innovation for Marsh’s specialist energy and power advisors, risk engineers, and brokers responsible for helping clients understand, quantify, and manage risk.
Barnes retains her current responsibilities as Head of Climate and Sustainability Strategy of Marsh.
She joined the broker in 2001 as an environmental consultant and has held several senior international leadership positions supporting clients with a range of risk and insurance issues, especially in energy transition and sustainability.
George commented on the appointments, “Amy and Andrew bring extensive experience working in the global energy and power sector and a deep understanding of the risks our clients face to these roles.
