Global professional services firm Marsh McLennan, along with its renowned management consulting business, Oliver Wyman, has unveiled a cutting-edge Generative AI tool named LenAI.
Developed by Marsh McLennan’s Dublin Innovation Center in collaboration with Oliver Wyman Digital, LenAI is poised to revolutionise the work experience for the company’s 85,000 colleagues worldwide, Marsh McLennan noted.
Paul Beswick, Senior Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer at Marsh McLennan, expressed confidence in LenAI’s transformative potential, citing the tool as a “game changer” since its recent full launch.
Beswick emphasised LenAI’s role in enabling teams to work more intelligently, ultimately benefiting their clients.
Key features of LenAI include its foundation on technologies from Microsoft and OpenAI. The collaboration allowed for the deployment of a private internally-hosted version of OpenAI’s foundational models, ensuring data security by keeping all information in-house.
LenAI was meticulously designed with regulatory requirements in mind, with considerations for minimal data retention, user training on responsible AI usage, controlled data access, and alignment with legal considerations, Marsh McLennan said.
LenAI boasts a growing range of capabilities, extending beyond the underlying AI models to offer tools such as internet searching, document handling, accurate calculations, and access to high-quality publications.
These features significantly enhance colleagues’ productivity, with early adopters at Oliver Wyman reporting an average time savings of eight hours per week and a 20% reduction in time spent on simple, repetitive tasks.
Vivek Sen, Partner and Head of Digital at Oliver Wyman, Americas, highlighted the potential of AI to increase client productivity and transform complex processes, asserting Oliver Wyman’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements.
LenAI is indicative of Marsh McLennan and Oliver Wyman’s dedication to harnessing AI’s power for the benefit of both colleagues and clients.
Oliver Wyman, in particular, has a robust history of AI engagements across various industries, leveraging responsible AI practices to drive innovation and deliver transformative results.
Marsh McLennan’s businesses, including Marsh, Mercer, and Guy Carpenter, are actively collaborating with clients to navigate challenges associated with AI adoption, Marsh McLennan noted.
Marsh focuses on risk management for generative AI, Mercer provides guidance on navigating AI’s impact on the workforce, and Guy Carpenter assists insurers in balancing the benefits and challenges of AI technologies.
