MNK International, an independent Lloyd’s of London broker, has announced the appointment of Jamie Illing as Chief Executive Officer of MNK International South Africa.
He will leverage his more than three decades of local and international insurance and reinsurance experience to lead a new offer to the South African and broader Southern African market.
Under Illing’s leadership MNK International South Africa is to refocus its efforts. The company will concentrate on providing high-quality corporate re/insurance solutions, leveraging extensive international market knowledge and dedicated support for the local broker and insurer community.
MNK International South Africa will offer corporate clients, brokers, and insurers tailored re/insurance broking, technical analytics, risk advisory, alternative risk transfer, and risk engineering, with direct access to international markets like Lloyd’s of London.
Key sectors include renewable energy, manufacturing, real estate, retail and FMCG, mining, construction, and agriculture.
The firm will focus on delivering specialist risk advisory and corporate insurance programmes as well as customised facultative and treaty reinsurance solutions across South Africa and the African market.

Illing expertise expands both underwriting and broking platforms. His career includes senior leadership roles at organisations such as Marsh, JLT Group, Independent Aviation, and Regent Insurance.
The executive is joined by Gerhard Raath as Head of Insurance & Reinsurance Broking, bringing 20 years of insurer, underwriting, and broking experience, and Paul Ray as Business Development Director, who brings over 40 years of industry and distribution leadership expertise.
