QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of global insurer QBE, has appointed Sven Liu as Head of Greater China, who brings more than 16 years of international reinsurance experience across Asia and Europe.
Liu is a seasoned multi-line underwriter and has held senior roles focused on underwriting, client engagement, and business development throughout Greater China. His previous experience includes leadership positions at Munich Re and SCOR.
The role has been newly established as part of QBE Re’s regional growth plans. Sven will be responsible for managing the portfolio and identifying new business opportunities across the Greater China market.
He will be based in Singapore and will report to Cindy Foo, Head of Asia, Treaty. His appointment supports QBE Re’s strategy to expand its treaty reinsurance presence in Asia, following Cindy Foo’s appointment in December 2025.
