Sompo International, a global provider of commercial and consumer property & casualty re/insurance, has hired Anna Lisiak as Head of Claims, Insurance, Continental Europe, and Herndon Stokes as Head of Distribution & Client Relationship Management, Insurance, Continental Europe.
Both appointees will be based in Zurich, and they will also report to Ralph Brand, President, Continental Europe Insurance.
Stokes also has a secondary reporting line into Brendan Plessis, Head of Distribution, Business Development and Client Management, Insurance, Global Markets.
Lisiak joins Sompo Intl. from Generali GCC in Milan, Italy where she most recently held the role of Head of Specialty Claims.
Prior to joining Generali GCC, she held claims roles with Allianz in Munich, Germany and Warta in Gdynia, Poland.
At the same time, Stokes joins Sompo Intl. from AXIS Re in Zurich, Switzerland where he most recently served as Broker Executive, Head of Distribution.
In addition, he previously held client management and corporate development roles with reinsurance giant, Munich Re.
Addressing both appointments, Brand said: “Anna and Herndon are the latest senior hires to Sompo International’s Continental European Insurance leadership team.
“The combination of their extensive knowledge across multiple jurisdictions and markets will be invaluable as we continue to develop our presence in the region, forging productive and sustainable partnerships with clients and brokers to help address the issues they face.”
In related news, Sompo Intl. recently hired Marilyn Faugas as Country Manager, Insurance for France.
She joined the company after 13 years at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, where she most recently served as their Country Legal Representative for France.
