Steadfast Group, the largest general insurance broking network and underwriting agency group in Australasia, has announced the appointment of Nigel Fitzgerald as Chief Operating Officer.
Fitzgerald, who is currently the CEO of AIG Australia, will commence his role with Steadfast Group in the second quarter of 2023 and will be based in Sydney.
The firm suggests that he is a highly skilled and respected CEO with a proven track record in the general insurance and reinsurance industry.
Fitzgerald holds over two and a half decades of experience across all insurance sectors in Asia, London, the US, and Australia.
Managing Director & CEO, Robert Kelly, commented on the appointment, stating, “Nigel brings an extensive and diverse range of skills that complement Steadfast’s revenue streams.
“We are delighted to have such a high calibre executive further strengthen Steadfast’s executive team.”
The appointment follows current Steadfast Group Chief Operating Officer, Samantha Hollman commencing a new role as Chief Executive Officer of Steadfast International Insurance Assets, which will be in effect on the 1st March 2023.

Steadfast Group was established in 1996, and its network provides services to broker businesses across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and London.
As of June 2022, Steadfast Network brokers and underwriting agencies generated billings of more than $13 billion.
