Unicorn Underwriting, a London-based managing general agent and part of U.S-headquartered global broker AmWINS Group, has announced the addition of Neil Russell starting 1 January 2019.
The company says he will be working on the development of new facilities and capacity for the firm with plans to join the Property Underwriting team mid-year.
In addition, Russell will work with Unicorn management to identify new business opportunities for the fast-growing MGA, originally launched in March 2015.
Russell, who brings over 20 years’ experience in underwriting property risks, began his career at Lexington Insurance Company, and most recently served as Head of Property at the Argo Syndicate where he worked alongside Neil Chapman, now Head of Unicorn’s Worldwide Property Division.
Once reunited, Russell and Chapman will work closely to continue to build the Unicorn Property offering.
“We are all looking forward to working with Neil when he joins the property team mid-year,” said Chapman.
“He and I worked closely together at Argo earlier in our careers, and I am confident that he will add significant underwriting bench strength to Unicorn.”
