Mario Wilhelm and Anthony Chaillet have left Swiss Re to leverage their combined experience across investments, re/insurance, and partnerships to establish insurance advisory firm, Rift Partners.

The company aims to focus on expanding access to insurance solutions through collaborative partnerships by connecting stakeholders in the insurance ecosystem – including corporations, the public sector, investors, and InsurTech companies – to drive innovation, growth, and long-term value creation.

By fostering sustainable partnerships, Rift Partners seeks to increase resilience and unlock new opportunities within the industry.

Chaillet and Wilhelm stated: “We’ve taken unique paths in the industry, each with different strengths and perspectives and now we’re coming together as Rift Partners. Our mission is clear: we will connect dots and bridge gaps in a fragmented re/insurance world.

“As trusted advisors, we work closely with corporates and development partners to advance their propositions — whether it’s refining a strategy, driving corporate development (incl. M&A), or fostering partnerships between the private and the public sector.

“We’re excited to build on the trust our existing clients have placed in us.”

With two decades of experience in the re/insurance industry, Managing Partner Wilhelm has started this new venture following 13 years at Swiss Re, where he held a number of roles since joining the company in 2011.

He has also served as Vice Chair for Swiss Capacity Building facility, a role he held for close to five years, and as Project Manager Microinsurance at Zurich Insurance Company.

Managing Partner Chaillet has also joined Rift Partners from Swiss Re, where he served for 17 years. He joined the global reinsurer in 2006 following three years as an Investment Associate for a private equity firm in Switzerland.

Chaillet also spent three years as a Senior Auditor from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

“I am very happy to team up with Mario Wilhelm on this exciting new journey with Rift Partners. Very much looking forward to working on impactful projects that will create value to our clients and partners. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this together.
A big thank you to our existing clients for the trust,” Chaillet commented.
