Willis, a WTW business, has named Harry Merker as the new Property and Casualty (P&C) Cross Industry Sales Leader and Alternative Asset Insurance Solutions (AAIS) Sales, Strategy, and Execution Leader for North America.
In this newly established dual role, Merker will be responsible for advancing broking growth across Willis’ P&C operations, while also leading coordinated sales strategies across the firm’s 12 industry verticals.
In addition, he will oversee the market approach for the AAIS vertical, including managing carrier partnerships, guiding product development, and upholding consistent service standards and content delivery.
Merker’s focus will include increasing engagement across the sales pipeline, supporting RFP processes, and working closely with both national and local sales teams to scale successful practices.
He will play a central role in expanding cross-selling efforts, ensuring clients benefit from the full spectrum of Willis’ services and niche capabilities. His collaboration with actuarial and analytics teams will also help refine AAIS offerings and create custom solutions for private equity firms and their portfolio companies.
With two decades of experience in commercial insurance and broking, Merker brings a strong background in designing and managing customised insurance programs. He most recently held the position of Chief Broking Officer – Middle Market at Aon, following leadership of Aon’s East and South Region within the same segment.
Based in New York, Merker will report to Aartie Manansingh, Head of Alternative Asset Insurance Solutions, North America. He will also serve as a member of the Property and Casualty Leadership Team.
