Data analytics and technology provider, Verisk, has announced that Samer Abou-Jaoudé will lead the company’s Claims Solutions business in Continental Europe as Managing Director.

Abou-Jaoudé will be taking over the role from Olav Skowronnek who is stepping down from Verisk as of July 31, 2023.

Skowronnek joined Verisk late in 2021 when the company acquired Actineo. He founded Actineo in 2009, and with the help of a dynamic team, they quickly developed the business into the international market leader for the digitalisation and medical assessment of bodily injury claims.

Abou-Jaoudé has more than 23 years of leadership experience in the insurance industry. Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Deputy Managing Director after joining Verisk in 2022 as a Senior Adviser.

Before Verisk, he served as group general manager for Arabia Insurance, and prior to that he held senior positions at AXA, Gen Re, and Zurich Insurance.

Commenting on his appointment, Abou-Jaoudé said: “I’m excited and honoured to lead our business in this incredibly dynamic market, and I look forward to carrying on Olav’s legacy of being laser-focused on our clients’ needs today and well into the future.

Maroun Mourad, president, Claims Solutions for Verisk, said: “Olav’s contributions have done more than strengthen Verisk’s ability to better serve our clients in Continental Europe, he’s built a client-focused team and solutions that contribute to the resilience of the insurance industry.

“I know Samer, and the entire team will only accelerate that work and pace of innovation to help clients capitalise on their strategic priorities.”
