Acappella Syndicate 2014, a Lloyd’s Syndicate managed by Pembroke Managing Agency Limited, has announced the appointment of David Jones as Active Underwriter and Matthew Bellamy as Deputy Active Underwriter.
Jones will apply his 37 years’ experience in the London re/insurance market to his new position, which includes senior roles at Markel International and Sagicor/AmTrust.
He joined Acapella in 2015 to lead its Liability division and underwrite Professional Indemnity, and has previous underwriting experience as head of the London branch operations for Mapfre Re and as a specialty underwriter with Scottish Lion and Sphere Drake.
In addition to his Deputy appointment, Bellamy will continue to serve Acapella as Divisional Head, Property Treaty, underwriting the Acappella North American Property Treaty portfolio.
Bellamy joined the Syndicate in 2014, before which he was a Specialist Underwriter for Property Treaty at Amlin.
Jones commented: “Acappella – now in its seventh year – represents a dedicated team of specialists, working closely with the Lloyd’s broking community to provide optimum insurance solutions.”
The Acappella Syndicate 2014 writes re/insurance business for a variety of classes, and was launched as Special Purpose Syndicate 6110 in 2012, becoming the first ever Lloyd’s SPS to convert to a standalone syndicate in 2014.
