Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Acrisure has appointed John Tuttle, currently Vice Chairman of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), as its new President, effective September 1st, 2024.

acrisure-logoTuttle will relocate to Grand Rapids and report to Greg Williams, Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Acrisure.

According to the brokerage, the appointment aligns with its pursuit of innovation-driven transformation as part of its growth strategy.

Williams commented on the appointment, “John’s command of the capital markets, and his deeply-rooted relationships throughout the financial services industry, position him as an ideal candidate to join Acrisure at a pivotal moment.

“John’s experience in the global arena will complement our entrepreneurial team, and his work in both the public and private sectors position him as a strong advocate for our company and clients as we continue to transform and grow.”

Tuttle, throughout his 17-year career at the NYSE and its parent, Intercontinental Exchange, has served in several leadership roles and developed broad relationships with investors and leaders across industries. He helped drive the NYSE’s operational and financial performance as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, among other roles.

Most recently, Tuttle created and served as President of the NYSE Institute, the Exchange’s platform bridging public policy and global commerce. At the NYSE, he was involved in nearly every line of business, including listings, capital markets, and exchange-traded products, helping manage the Exchange’s relationships with 2,400 issuers and over 1,300 equity offerings, including IPOs and follow-ons, which raised over $1.5 trillion.

Tuttle commented, “I am thrilled to join Acrisure, a company that embodies growth, ambition, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. I look forward to working closely with Greg and the entire Acrisure team to drive further success and deliver unmatched value to its clients and partners.”

Jeff Sprecher, Founder, Chair and CEO, ICE, concluded, “We are grateful to John for his many years of leadership and service at NYSE. All of us at ICE wish John the best in his new role and couldn’t be happier that he joined a company with the stature of Acrisure. We look forward to working with John in his new capacity and to witnessing Acrisure’s many future successes.”

Tuttle serves on the board of directors of various corporate and non-profit organizations and, before NYSE, he served in the administration of President George W. Bush at the U.S. Department of State.
