Adam Bass to succeed Guy Ellis as Hiscox Head of Marine & Aviation Treaty

Adam Bass has been appointed Head of Marine & Aviation Treaty at Hiscox, an international specialist insurer, succeeding market veteran Guy Ellis, who is to retire later this year.

Hiscox logoBass brings extensive institutional knowledge and technical expertise to the role, having joined Hiscox in 2006 as a Fine Art & Specie Underwriter. He then transitioned to the Marine and Aviation Treaty division, where he has served for the past 26 years. .

“During that time,” Bass commented, “I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside some of the most talented underwriters, brokers and cedents in the market and I look forward to building on the strong foundations Guy and the wider team have put in place.”

Bass is taking over the leadership position from Ellis, an experienced Marine X/L underwriter with an established reputation across the industry.

Ellis’ retirement marks the end of an impactful 28-year tenure at Hiscox, during which the specialty reinsurance market.
