American Financial Group, an insurance holding company, has announced the promotion of Mark A. Weiss to Senior Vice President and General Counsel of American Financial Group, Inc., effective December 1, 2022.
Weiss will succeed Vito Peraino as he has been named Executive Counsel and will serve in an advisory role to the company, according to the announcement.
He joined AFG twelve years ago, in 2010, as Assistant Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. He was promoted to Vice President five years later and assumed the role of Chief Compliance Officer in 2020.
Prior to joining AFG, Weiss was a corporate and transactional lawyer for Keating Muething & Klekamp, where he served for more than eighteen years.
The Cincinnati-based company is engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialised commercial products for businesses. This is achieved through the operations of Great American Insurance Group.
