Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has appointed Tom Major as the new regional head of claims for regional unit London and Nordics, effective 1 June.

In this role, Tom will lead AGCS’ claims services business across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics with responsibility for overseeing a claims service across the region. He will report to Nadia Côté, who joined as managing director regional unit London and Nordics on 3 May, with an additional reporting line to Thomas Sepp, chief claims officer.

Major will be based in the London office of AGCS and succeeds Lars Vissing who has left for an external opportunity outside the Allianz Group. Vissing had been in his role at the firm since January 2018.

Sepp said: “Tom is already well known to many in his current role leading our Property, Energy & Construction Claims team.  His experience across the insurance value-chain means he is expertly positioned to lead our regional claims team for London and Nordics.”

He added: “This appointment further demonstrates Allianz’s commitment to nurturing and developing our employees, highlights the strength of our internal talent and means we continue to be expertly positioned to support our clients’ needs at the moment of truth when they need us the most.  I very much look forward to continuing to work together with Tom in his new role.”

Major’s LinkedIn profile states that he has been with AGCS for over ten years, most recently as head of property, energy, and construction claims in the UK. Previous positions include senior underwriter and underwriter with the firm.
