AI12 Limited, a specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Alfie Langley as Head of Cyber, a move that expands the company’s cyber capability as it continues to build depth across its specialty insurance platform.
In his new role, Langley will be responsible for building and developing AI12’s Cyber Specialty division across the UAE, MEA, and SEA regions.
His duties encompass designing cyber insurance strategies for large corporations, mid-market enterprises, and SMEs, while guiding clients to understand, manage, and mitigate intricate cyber risks.
Additionally, Langley will work closely with the Specialty Team to enhance AI12’s specialty proposition and solidify its market presence within complex and evolving risk classes.
Langley commented: “Cyber risk continues to evolve at a pace that challenges even the most sophisticated organizations. I’m delighted to be joining AI12 at such an exciting stage of its growth. Our focus is to build a market-leading cyber offering that combines deep technical expertise with practical, client-focused solutions.
“A key part of this is ensuring clients fully understand what they are buying and why, demystifying cyber insurance and enabling more informed risk transfer decisions. AI12 provides a unique platform to develop innovative cyber products, strengthen insurer and client relationships, and deliver clear, responsive support in an increasingly complex risk landscape.”
Langley brings more than nine years of insurance experience across underwriting, broking, financial lines, professional indemnity, and cyber insurance.
His professional background includes five years in the London and Lloyd’s markets, with experience across D&O, PI, SPPI, and Cyber. Furthermore, he has been based in Dubai for the past four years, working in both underwriting and broking capacities.
This diverse experience has allowed him to build strong connections with clients, insurers, and markets across the UAE, DIFC, London and Lloyd’s, Singapore, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the wider MENA region.
Langley’s appointment follows AI12’s recent announcement of its establishment in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and authorisation by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), marking another important step in the company’s long-term strategy to expand the breadth and depth of its specialty capabilities globally.
Anvar Mullabekov, Founder & CEO of AI12, stated: “Following our DIFC and DFSA authorization, we are continuing to invest in senior talent across key specialty lines. Cyber is a critical part of that strategy. Our long-term vision is to build a globally recognized specialty insurance and reinsurance broker with the technical depth, market relationships, and entrepreneurial mindset required to support clients with clarity and trust in an increasingly complex risk environment.”
Richard Prenter, COO & Head of Specialty at AI12, said: “Alfie’s appointment is another important step in the continued development of AI12’s specialty platform. Cyber is now a board-level risk for organisations across every sector, and clients increasingly require advice that combines technical understanding, market access, regulatory awareness, and practical risk transfer solutions.”
Jamie Eaton, Global Head of Financial Lines at AI12 added: “Alfie’s appointment further strengthens our cyber insurance offering for clients and demonstrates the critical role this product plays in our global financial lines strategy.”
