AIG appoints John Repko as Chief Information Officer

American International Group (AIG) has appointed John P. Repko as its new Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, effective September 4, 2018.

john-repkoHe succeeds Martha Gallo, who is leaving AIG to pursue other interests, and will report to Brian Duperreault, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AIG.

Repko will also serve as a member of AIG’s Executive Leadership Team and will be responsible for the company’s global technology strategy, overseeing core shared infrastructure, technology partnerships, and process engineering efforts.

AIG added that Repko will work closely with its other leaders in support of technology-enabled cross-business collaboration to meet the changing needs of the company’s global clients.

Repko has served as the Global Chief Executive Information Officer at Johnson Controls (JCI) since 2016, having taken up this position following JCI’s merger with Tyco.

He previously served as Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Enterprise Transformation Leader at Tyco from 2012, before which he held chief information officer roles at Covance Inc., SES Global, and General Electric’s GE Americom division.

“John is a results-oriented, versatile business leader with the rare combination of finance and technology expertise,” said Duperreault. “He is a seasoned Chief Information Officer, with a long and successful track record of completing large scale process improvements and technology transformations.
