Scott Stransky, formerly of catastrophe risk modeller AIR Worldwide, has joined global brokerage Marsh McLennan (MMC) to lead its new Cyber Risk Analytics Center of Excellence.

scott-stranskyStransky leaves AIR after 14 years of service, having joined in 2007 as an analyst. Most recently, he led the Cyber Modelling group, which is responsible for all cyber risk modelling and analytics across Verisk Cyber Solutions.

After transitioning to a scientist role at AIR in 2009, he was named Senior Scientist in 2012 before being promoted to Manager, Principal Scientist in 2014. Two years later, AIR named Stransky Assistant Vice President (AVP), Principal Scientist, and then in 2018 he took on the role of AVP, Director of Emerging Risk Modelling.

Stransky was then appointed Vice President of Emerging Risk Modelling in 2019, taking on his most recent role at the company in September of last year.

Commenting on his departure from AIR and new role with MMC, Stransky said: “I’m not sure what I expected from a first job, but AIR has allowed me to grow from fresh graduate to individual contributor to project manager to people manager to leader, and for that I’ll always be grateful. For certain, what I will miss most about AIR is my team. They are awesome and brilliant people and I learned a great deal from working with them.

“Now I am on to a new challenge at MMC, but as I will still be in the industry and based just a few blocks from AIR’s new office, this isn’t really “goodbye” — it’s more “see you around”.”
