AkinovA adds co-founder of Securis to Advisory Board

AkinovA, an electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of insurance risk, has announced the addition of Rob Procter to its Advisory Board.

rob procterProcter is a co-founder of Securis Investment Partners, an independent insurance-linked securities (ILS) manager, and has served as CEO and Chief Investment Officer at the company.

Prior to Securis, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, heading up their Global Insurance Research practice for 8 years.

AkinovA explained that Procter will now assist it in driving growth and participation within the marketplace, using his in-depth knowledge of the ILS and capital markets.

“The creation of AkinovA as an independent electronic marketplace that combines capital markets technology with (re)insurance expertise will fundamentally grow the market by improving the way in which insurance-related risks are transferred and traded,” said Procter.

“The team’s understanding of the need to deliver value to all market participants and work with, and not against, the industry will be key to the AkinovA success story,” he continued.

Procter will serve on the Advisory Board alongside Paul Jardine (formerly XL Catlin’s Chief Experience Officer), Takeshi Doi (Chief of Cyber Risk Section, MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings), Daljitt Barn (Global Head of Cyber Risk, Tokio Marine Group),  Jonny Creagh-Coen (Fidelis’s head of strategic relations), Thomas C Heise (Co-founder of the Bermuda Commodities Exchange and Clearing House).

Also on the Board are Charles N. Bralver (Co-founder of consulting firm Oliver Wyman), Pierre Francotte (former CEO of securities clearing house Euroclear), Susan Estes (founder, President & CEO of OpenDoor bond trading platform) and Erik Jansen (Co-founder of Pequot Ventures).
