Alessandro Lezzi named Beazley’s Group Head of Cyber Risks

Specialty insurer Beazley has appointed Alessandro Lezzi as Group Head of Cyber Risks, reporting to Paul Bantick, Group Chief Underwriting Officer, Beazley.

Lezzi has reportedly worked in the re/insurance industry for over twenty years, both as an underwriter and broker.

He joined Beazley in 2011 and has served as the firm’s Head of International Cyber for more than a decade, while also chairing Beazley’s Cyber and Tech London Market and International Management Committee.

Before joining the specialty insurer, he worked at a large Lloyd’s syndicate as a senior underwriter for financial line products and managed the syndicate’s South European and South American books of business.

For the nine months ended September 30th, 2024, Beazley reported a 7% rise in net insurance written premiums to $3.8 billion and maintained its combined ratio guidance for the year at around 80% despite expected losses of up to $175 million from hurricanes Helene and Milton.

As well as the rise in net insurance written premiums, gross insurance written premiums also increased by 7% year-on-year to $4.6 billion.
