Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced the appointment of Mark Whayling as the new Entertainment Global Product Lead for the Live sector, effective immediately.
Whayling was most recently Senior Underwriter, Live Entertainment, for AGCS’ London & Nordics region, having joined Allianz in 2017.
In his new role, Whayling will be Chief Underwriter for AGCS’ Live Events, Sports and Contingency with global responsibility for this portfolio.
The firm states that he will lead the technical underwriting, and be responsible for the global Live Entertainment products that help protect organisers, promotors, performers, equipment and audience members alike from the many risks that may occur amid large and complex live event productions.
Before joining AGCS, Whayling worked as an Entertainment Underwriter at ProSight Syndicate 1100 from 2014 onwards.
He will report to Michael Furtschegger, Global Head of Entertainment at AGCS, and will remain based in the London office.
Furtschegger commented on the appointment, stating, “I’m delighted Mark is assuming this role leading Live Entertainment for AGCS globally.
“His experience and knowledge of live events and sport insurance will ensure we continue to be best placed to help our clients worldwide with their Live entertainment coverage needs. I very much look forward to continuing working together in his new capacity.”
