Allianz SE extends mandates of key board members Barbara Karuth-Zelle and Christopher Townsend

The Supervisory Board of Allianz SE, one of the world’s leading insurance and asset management companies, announced that it has extended the mandates of Barbara Karuth-Zelle and Christopher Townsend, two prominent members of the Allianz SE Board of Management.

new-allianz-logoThe decision extends their contracts until December 2028, showcasing the board’s confidence in their leadership capabilities and recognising the significance of continuity during a transformative period.

Karuth-Zelle, aged 54, has been serving as the Group Chief Operating Officer since joining the Allianz SE Board of Management in January 2021.

Townsend, aged 55, assumed the role of overseeing Global Insurance Lines, Global Commercial Insurance, Reinsurance, Anglo Markets, Iberia & Latin America, Middle East, and Africa upon joining the Allianz SE Board of Management in January 2021.

“The renewal of the mandates of Barbara Karuth-Zelle and Chris Townsend reflects the Supervisory Board’s confidence in the strength of the management team and the importance of leadership continuity in a time of transformation,” stated Michael Diekmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Allianz SE.
