Allison Elzer named as lead of Markel Specialty’s new Risk Solution Services

Markel Specialty, part of Markel Corporation, has announced the official launch of its newly expanded loss control department, Risk Solution Services, that will be led by Allison Elzer.

Allison ElzerThis new department, headed by Elzer along with her team, is designed to support clients and production partners by offering risk management solutions and collaborating with claims professionals and underwriters to navigate both current and future risk trends.

Elzer joined the company in 2019 and has spent the last 12 months overseeing the expansion and strengthening of the unit’s loss control department. She is based in Philadelphia, and reports to Jane Peterson, Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Markel Specialty.

Peterson commented: “Loss control and risk engineering are important to Markel Specialty and our customers. Thanks to Allison’s leadership and extensive industry experience, Markel Specialty’s Risk Solution Services offering is well positioned to provide tremendous value to our producers and insureds.”

Elzer brought over 13 years of loss control experience to Markel when she joined in July of last year. Prior to Markel, she held roles as Senior Property and Casualty Risk Engineer at Chubb and as Senior Loss Control Consultant for Gallagher Bassett Services.
