AM Best announced the promotion of Carlos De la Torre to Managing Director of Operations of AM Best América Latina, S.A. de C.V., Institución Calificadora de Valores (AMBAL), its Mexico-based subsidiary.
In this role, De la Torre will be responsible for leading AMBAL’s ongoing expansion in Mexico, Central, and South America.
De la Torre will continue to be based out of Mexico City and continue to report to Andrea Keenan, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of AM Best Rating Services and Senior General Director of AMBAL.
According to Keenan, De la Torre’s industry knowledge and leadership has been instrumental in AM Best’s success in Latin America. Keenan added that De la Torre has been a presenter and panelist at various insurance industry events across the Americas.
In his new role, De la Torre will continue to serve as a member of the AMBAL Board from the Mexico City office.
He expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating that he is “strongly committed to expanding AM Best’s footprint and to the growth of the insurance and reinsurance market in Latin America.”
