AmericanAg announces new EVP & CEO with Janet Katz set to retire

Domestic U.S. reinsurance company, American Agricultural Insurance Company (AmericanAg™), has announced that Andrew Boris will succeed Janet Katz as the firm’s Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

americanag-logoAfter more than three decades with the reinsurer, Katz is set to retire from AmericanAg™ on April 1st, 2022.

She joined the company in 1989 as an Actuarial Trainee and worked through various leadership roles before taking over as EVP and CEO in 2009.

Throughout her career, Katz has been active in both the community and the reinsurance sector, serving on a number of non-profit and industry boards.

President of AmericanAg™, Zippy Duvall, commented: “Janet has been a remarkable leader. She has guided AmericanAg™ through one of the most challenging and complex periods in our industry with a steadfast commitment to our employees, clients, stakeholders, and reinsurance partners. We are grateful to her and wish her the best in retirement.”

Katz’s replacement, Boris, has served as General Counsel and Secretary at the company since 2014. Prior to this, he worked as a lawyer for almost 20 years, with a focus on complex insurance and reinsurance issues on a national and global basis.

Katz said: “The Board of Directors and I have great confidence in Andrew as the next Executive Vice President and CEO.

“He has been a key part of our Executive Leadership Team for the last seven years, and his background and dedication to the company have positioned him well to lead us into the future.”

Boris added: “AmericanAg™ is a terrific company, and I am very excited about its future. We have a talented team of employees and a solid foundation to continue delivering on promises to our clients.”
