Amie Watson to head Trium Cyber London office

Trium Cyber, a Lloyds of London cyber insurance specialist, has announced the appointment of Amie Watson as Head of International Underwriting.

In her new position, Watson will establish Trium’s presence in London by building out the company’s international platform.

“Amie is a well-known and highly regarded underwriter of cyber risk and an authority on contract wordings,” said Josh Ladeau, Trium’s CEO.

Adding: “Moreover, after several challenging overseas postings, she has proven herself to be an excellent leader and administrator whose talent and experience will help propel Trium into becoming a world player.”

Commenting on her appointment, Watson said: “I’m happy to join such a highly experienced team with a proven track record.

“I especially look forward to building a data-led insurance company that can leverage new technologies to provide better outcomes for clients, brokers and stakeholders, unencumbered by legacy systems.”

Watson joins Trium Cyber from Aspen where she served as Senior Underwriter and Deputy to the International Technology and Cyber Risks team.

Prior to this, she was a Senior Underwriter and Deputy to Liberty Mutual’s Strategic Assets team. During her time in the company, she pioneered the development of Technology PI as a line and helped create a rating tool.

Before Liberty, Watson was part of XL. As a Senior Underwriter management recognized her leadership ability by seconding her to the Singapore office to develop PI and Cyber for the Asian market.

She joined XL from AVIVA, where she served as Senior Underwriter. During her time at the company, she developed new business and regularly liaised with and advised government regulators.

Prior to this, she served at Willis as an Account Executive advising major accounts, conducted claims analysis, researched market trends and created seminars for clients on emerging risks.

Her organisational ability and rapport with clients was recognized with a six-month secondment to Australia where she helped develop professional indemnity, D&O medical malpractice and other new business lines.

Watson began her insurance industry career at Lockton as a broker and quickly advanced to Associate Director.
