Amphitrite Underwriting London, a marine specialist managing general agent (MGA), has expanded its Marine War offering with an additional $40m in Lloyd’s capacity.
The added capacity provides brokers and clients with more options and extends the reach of Amphitrite’s specialist marine products amid rising demand for Marine War cover.
The Marine War class is led by Ben Jones, Head of Marine War, who joined the firm in 2020.
Coverage includes physical loss or damage to vessels caused by war perils, loss of hire or earnings due to war perils, and drug seizure cover for innocent owners and operators.
Konstantinos Tampakakis, CEO of Amphitrite, said, “This new enhanced offering underscores our firm’s growing stature and unwavering dedication to the Marine War market, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to helping clients navigate an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape worldwide.”
The announcement builds on the firm’s growth momentum. In September 2024, Amphitrite received final approval from Lloyd’s of London to become an approved coverholder — a major milestone in its strategic diversification journey.
