AmTrust Financial Services has appointed Daniel Hickey, formerly of PartnerRe, to Executive Vice President (EVP) of Business Strategy and Business Development.
In his New York-based role with AmTrust, Hickey will oversee the firm’s business strategy planning, developing a global framework that reflects macro market trends and combines these with various local market insights.
He’ll be responsible for AmTrust’s business development, managing key partner relationships and organic business opportunities.
Barry Zyskind, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), who Hickey will be directly reporting to, said; “I have known Dan for many years and he is widely respected in our industry as a thoughtful, strategic leader, with the ability to deliver exceptional results.
“As a member of our senior management team, Dan will identify and support the organic growth opportunities available to AmTrust as a multinational property and casualty insurer.
“We believe Dan’s deep expertise and network in the insurance industry will be highly beneficial to AmTrust now that we have the size and scale to leverage our existing base of business.”
Most recently, Hickey worked for PartnerRe as EVP and Head of the Standard Lines business unit, and before PartnerRe he was at General Reinsurance Corporation, working in the Life/Health and Property/Casualty insurance industries, most recently in role of President of the North America Treaty Reinsurance.
